Edin Džeko (born 17 March, 1986) is a Bosnian striker who plays for the German Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg. He rose to fame by scoring 26 goals in 32 matches in the league for Wolfsburg and was nominated for the 2009 Balon d'Or award along with Europe's elite players. He is also a member of the Bosnian national side with 16 goals in 29 games.

Džeko signed for the german side, VfL Wolfsburg, after impressing their manager Felix Magath whilst playing for Czech side, FK Teplice. The fee was in the region of €4,000,000. During his first season at the club, he helped Wolfsburg to fifth position in the Bundesliga gaining them a place in the UEFA Cup. He started 17 games, scored 8 goals and got 7 assists in that season.
